Beacon Hills High, Friday Evening FT

Jackson had been home since yesterday. It hadn't been terribly eventful. (Or so he thought. There had been a trip to a garage. It hadn't been pretty. But he didn't know that.) Tonight, though, he'd made it down to the school because Beacon Hills was in the semi-finals, and it wasn't like he could miss this.
Also, Danny was going to be there to discuss the tape with him. Finally.
But imagine his surprise when Danny showed up with his video-containing tablet in hand – and Matt in tow.
"What the hell is this?" Jackson demanded, springing up from his seat. "Dude, I thought I could trust you."
"Relax, it's my camera, okay?" Matt replied, like anyone had been talking to him. "He just needed to ask me some questions."
"Matt's the one that found it anyway," Danny chimed in. It was definitely a good way to get Jackson to focus on something besides worry over Matt seeing something he shouldn't. Kind of. "Found what?"
Danny held the tablet for him to see. It was just a part of the video. Him sleeping. "There," Danny said, pointing at the screen like Jackson was supposed to have seen something. Surprise, he hadn't. "'There' what?"
Danny, ever the calm one, rewound the video a bit and pointed at Jackson's hand in the video. It went from being at his side to resting on his stomach in the blink of an eye. "It's an edit point," Danny explained. "It's been looped, two hours' worth."
Yeah, Jackson... almost thought he knew what they were talking about. "What does that mean?"
"That means there's two hours of footage," Matt clarified, "missing."
-----
Jackson didn't get a lot of time to deal with his new sudden revelation (not that it was much of a revelation – all he knew was that there had been two hours where something had maybe happened), because the game started. And... it was going really badly. Like, Jackson was clawing at the edge of his seat kind of badly. There was some kind of a monster on the other team, just injuring Beacon Hills players left and right, and they were losing. By the time Coach Finstock came up to Jackson and demanded he pretend he still went to school here, he was more than ready to take to the field.
It didn't help, though. The monster – who they aptly called the Abomination – was still on the field. And McCall was refusing to cheat because Allison's grandfather was in the stands. And they were running out of players and Stiles, naturally, was nowhere to be found. Guess this was one of his famed MIA at a crucial moment stories.
And then Finstock pulled Boyd out of the crowd and put him on the field.
And they won. And they were moving to the finals.
And after this, it was going to be another uneventful evening.
